The year 1957 saw the first published research into Spanish national income and its distribution by provinces. This edition includes an analysis of the year 1995 alongside provisional figures for the 1996-1999 period, thus completing an over 40-year picture of the performance of the Spanish economy at provincial and regional level, on both the production and revenue sides, with particular attention to Spain’s convergence with the social welfare levels of the European Union.
